Maro is a chipmunk who lives in the hair of Misako Kurata. He is often seen interacting with Misako's hairstyle in some way, and is usually mentioned in the opening photos along with Misako. Later on in the anime series, he appears before and after commercial breaks in front of the drawing board hanging on Misako's door, in front of a child-like drawing of Sana who says word puzzles.
