When Keiko was growing up, her mother was never around much: she was always busy with her job or boyfriend. Keiko never knew her father and it was hard for her to be alone all of the time. She began dating a man named Takeshi Gojo, and although she was young, she really loved him and the feelings were mutual. When she found out she was pregnant, she couldn't tell anyone, even him. She was frightened and didn't know what to do, so she had the baby all alone. Takeshi disappeared without a word before this happened and she presumed he was dead.
